Always find from the web with Snowtape / Rdio: Depending on the type of music you're listening to, Snowtape may not provide the best album cover for the track playing. With the box checked, SS will try to override the artwork Snowtape provides with a cover fetched from the web.ġ0. The last box about Snowtape is there because Snowtape currently provides artwork which is low-quality and often not the correct cover. Since v3.4.3 it's been able to very sucessfully fetch album art from the web. It can display a default image, or no image. If no artwork available: These buttons choose what Screensleeves does. I copied the iTunes l file to the local drive, then ⌥+iTunes icon, and the iTunes screen comes up fine and it even plays the songs that are on the SSD. Right click and Quit, it won't quit and have to Force quit. Earlier that SSD was HFS+ format, then due to various things with that SSD I reformatted to APFS, restored from another disk to which the SSD was being backed up to, using Carbon Copy Cloner. My iTunes library is on an external SSD drive. no 'not responding' in the contextual menu. I click on the dock icon, it shows the little dot below right click and it shows the options etc i.e. Itunes not opening iTunes is not opening. Why does iTunes stop when the display goes to sleep? My fix of course is to tell Windows not to put the display to sleep. The only fix was to stop and restart iTunes. It turns out that when the display went to sleep, iTunes would just stop playing. On a desktop, this is silly, but that's the way it was. Not the whole computer, just the display, and while plugged in. In Windows 10, the display was set to go to sleep after 5 minutes. After a bunch of trial and error, I figured out the problem. I wasn't sitting at the computer when this happens. This setup was working fine except that iTunes would mysteriously stop after a few minutes. The audio is transferred digitally from the PC to the audio system via a Displayport-to-HDMI connection. ![]() The computer is essentially a music server connected to my home theater / home audio system. I have a new Lenovo desktop running a fresh install of Windows 10 and newly downloaded iTunes. I also want to know why it happens in the first place. I just discovered a fix to a silly problem that I want to share.
